The Department of Finance of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, successfully hosted the 14th Students’ Research Symposium (SRS) on November 6, 2025. Held under the theme “Empowering Discovery: The Transformative Role of Undergraduate Research,” the event celebrated the growing impact of student-led inquiry and its contribution to academic advancement and real-world problem-solving.
The inauguration ceremony took place at the Sunil Shantha Memorial Auditorium. The Chief Guest for the event was Prof. Bandara Wanninayake, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies. The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Ruwan Wijesinghe, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Finance, who emphasized the importance of nurturing research mindsets among undergraduates.
Academic staff and undergraduates from the Department of Finance attended the event, contributing to a vibrant atmosphere of learning and intellectual curiosity.
SRS 2025 not only provided a platform for students to showcase their research but also fostered collaboration and knowledge exchange among stakeholders in finance and related fields.
